Michelin North America - Tire ruined by small cut on sidewall
After 2600 miles the tire is ruined by small cut on sidewall. No off-road driving.
Mostly highway miles. Driver side rear. The leak happened between my house and Escondido, about ten miles away. The leak was large enough that the pressure was dropping 1 psi each three minutes.
I took it to a tire shop, but they said that it could not be repaired because it is leaking on the sidewall. I did not not hit anything in the road during my trip. Is it possible that there was a flaw in the manufacturing process?
Perhaps a bubble in the rubber? It seems like a long shot, but it makes no sense that a tire with so few miles should need to be replaced?
